Rae & Webb Cafe in York

I found this little cafe not too far from my university one lunch break. They do gluten free options (however as the kitchen is very small there is risk of cross contamination so it isn't 100% guaranteed to be completely safe).

I ordered a gluten free cheese and ham toastie, which they even wrapped the toastie in a covering for me as they only use the same toaster so it was slightly less risk, which I thought was lovely of them.

I found the toastie delicious, I wasn't a fan of the dressing on the salad but the rest was good. I'm always surprised if i order gluten free bread out and it's good!

Not really gluten free related but I didn't really enjoy the coffee. I had a latte, but to be completely honest I didn't order a sugar and I usually take my coffee with one sugar, so that could be the reasoning for it rather than their coffee making skills haha.

The toastie cost me approx £4.95 (trying to remember off the top of my head) which is a little steep but I'd say it's probably also the average!

It's a decent little cafe to sit in and either read or take your laptop in to do some work. However, I have found it to be busy (though never loud!) a few times I've gone in so there isn't always a table free (as I've said, it is just a little cafe on a busy street/road) The staff have been very lovely and friendly every time I've gone in too.

I saw that they also offered gluten free cookies and brownies but I haven't given them a try yet, if i do I'll pop a review of them up!
